Syndication FAQe-mail this to a friend|

  • What is syndication?

Syndication means that the do-it.org.uk opportunity search is fed through to your website and kept automatically up-to-date. So, people can search our database without leaving your site. It's straightforward to set up and easy to maintain.
  • Can I tailor the search?

Yes, some organisations only present their own opportunities that have already been uploaded to do-it.org.uk. Others show opportunities for selected categories only.
  • Can I do what I like with the data?

No, the data is still ours. The only data you can change is what you upload to do-it.org.uk.
  • Can I make the search fit in with the design of my site?

Yes, as long as you comply with the Content Licence Agreement you can present the search in your own look and feel.
  • How do I upload my opportunities?

Easy - you can either use our V-Base software, our Online Poster System or get them uploaded by your local Volunteer Centre.
  • How much does it cost?

The annual fee for syndication depends on the income of your organisation and the service you choose. See the price list for full details.
  • Why do I have to pay at all?

YouthNet, the organisation behind do-it.org.uk, is a charity, but we still have to pay our way. We believe that the pricing structure is fair and represents good value for money.
  • What technical requirements are there to set up syndication?

If your organisation has a website then you can probably syndicate our opportunity search. You will need a programmer to write the pages and code for the search on your site, but it's usually quite straightforward. A full technical document is provided to all partners.
  • What happens if I have problems once I've started?

We provide technical support to all organisations who sign up for the syndication service.
  • Which other organisations syndicate the do-it.org.uk search?

A wide range of different organisations syndicate do-it.org.uk's volunteering opportunity search.
  • How do I apply?
