One of the best things to come out of the web in recent years has been the growth of social networking. Giving people a chance to connect as never before sites like Facebook allow people with similar interests to get to know each other and share their experiences.

We want our volunteers to have a chance to talk to each other, and to share their experiences of volunteering, maybe even organise some group volunteering.

If you've never used Facebook before, it's a simple social networking site that allows you to keep a track of what you and your friends are up to. Signing up is free and there is plenty of help available on getting started.

Once you've got started, or if you're already using Facebook, then head over to our new do-it.org.uk group and join in. You can keep up-to-date with the latest news, find out what other volunteers are doing, and join in discussions about volunteering.
